In the mid-1960s Gordon & MacPhail took the unprecedented step of launching a range of single malts under the brand name ‘Connoisseurs Choice’. Until this time, many of the whiskies the range featured would not have been available as single malt. Today, Connoisseurs Choice retains this exclusive nature with a range of rare and sought after single malts from distilleries throughout Scotland.

TASTING NOTE

Colour: Dark Gold.

WITHOUT WATER:

Nose: Delicate Sherry influences with pear and green apple aromas. Complimented toadted malt and an underlying menthol note.

Palate: The palate has cracked black pepper with orange and ripe banana flavours. A creamy milk chocolate and brazil nut edge develops.

WITH WATER:

Nose: Toasted malt and beeswax aromas initially, with hints of lemon and lime. Subtle hints of eucalyptus and peppermint develop.

Palate: Chilli spice initially with orange and kiwi flavours. These combine with a lingering creamy milk chocolate and almond edge.

Body: Medium.

Finish: Long, smooth and creamy.

Cask Type(s): Refill Sherry Hogsheads.

Whisky Style: Delicate Speyside malt.
