Description
Edradour produces just twelve casks of whisky a week during production times. This is then laid down to mature for at least 10 years until the whisky reaches the peak quality.
A truly hand crafted malt, Edradour is golden in the glass, with a delicious aroma of sugared almonds and a hint of Oloroso. The smooth, creamy, light malty taste is followed by a mellow warming finish.
But don’t take there word for it. World-reknowned whisky expert, Michael Jackson, in his book “Michael Jackson’s Malt Whisky Companion. A Connoisseur’s guide to the malt whiskies of Scotland” (Michael Jackson, 1989, published by Dorling Kindersley Limited, 1989 pg79) scores the ten year old Edradour an excellent 81 points out of 100. His tasting notes are as follows:
Colour – Full golden
Nose – Peppermint, sugared almond, hint of sherry, spicy-smoky notes.
Body – Remarkably creamy texture for a relatively light malt
Palate – Minty-clean, creamy, malty
Finish – Mellow, warming
